PANTOGRAPH
Despite enjoying a tradition of over 150 years in use, pantograph remains one of the most challenging techniques for glassware decoration. First, an experienced craftsman must apply wax onto the product and then use a system of needles to draw the desired pattern. The cup is then bathed in an etching bath which finishes the process. The product can be further decorated, for example by adding a gold finish, or by coloring.
The process of decorating a pantograph begins with the application of wax to the glass surface, allowing the creation of a detailed motif using fine needles. Subsequent immersion in an etching bath will cause the glass to beautifully work its way into the original ornament. This method of etching glass gives each piece a unique character, elegantly emphasising the details and leaving a perfect aesthetic impression. Crystalex maintains high quality standards thanks to handmade production and a long tradition of the pantograph technique.

Crystalex regularly enriches its pantographs with gilding and gold rims, creating luxurious collections for discerning clients who want not just a glass, but a designer gem with a story.
